UNK SEZ: You kids are in for a special treat! Today's Kindertrauma Funhouse is being hosted by the glamorous queen of television AMANDA BY NIGHT of the beyond spectacular MADE FOR TV MAYHEM!!! Amanda has supplied us with ten televisions on which can be seen ten images from ten made-for-television masterpieces. How many can you name?
7-Dark Night of the Scarecrow
I KNOW Maureen McCormick was in a TV movie where she and some other people were on an island, BUT I CAN'T RECALL WHAT IT WAS NAMED!
Number 4 is either Moon of the Wolf or an afterschool special about the dangers of masturbation.
Damn, never been a made for TV type person, so I don't know any of these aside from the one LaDracul mentioned (which would be #3) with Maureen McCormick which I believe was called "A Vacation To Hell"Â or "A Vacation In Hell"?
Hopefully that's right (or at least along the same lines), because I remember watching that one back in the 80's on a UHF station. Something dealing with waterfalls and a guy breaking his leg is all I seem to remember about it.
2 is BAD RONALD?
I thought Id be good at this but sdo far DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW is the only ringer. I have to look at the pics ten more times. it'll come to me.
I know Dark Night of the Scarecrow for #7 for sure, I would have guessed Moon of the Wolf for #4 also, but apart from those I'm stumped. That shot from #10 is very familiar…And i'll throw out another guess and say that #8 is the original Salem's Lot.
I hate that I clearly recognize some actresses in these, but I still don't know what the movies are. I'd go to the IMDb with that knowledge to cheat, but that's not how I roll.
Is # 5 Diane Franklin? This is killing me!
1 and 10 look so familar too. Especailly 10. Whatever that is Ive seen it recently.
I thought the guy flattened out in the hay(?) looked sorta David Soul myself. hahaha.
That one chick is Linda Hamilton but in WHAT?
Oh you are the devil, Amanda. Youre drivin me to drink!
#5 Deadly Lessons
#7 Dark Night of the Scarecrow
Â
Hey everybody!
Thanks for playing. Everyone is doing really good… I mean, most of these movies aren't readily available, so your memories are sharp as knives!
#6 was a crappy little movie called Secret Weapons (which I'm sure was strictly based on the spy element in the story, and not the norks flashed).
Was the hairy hand one from The Boy Who Cried Werewolf?
And I'm gonna make a guess that one of them is Crowhaven Farm (1970) starring Hope Lange. Not because I can identify it in any of the pictures, but because I can't get that out of my head at the moment, especially the scene where she's slowly being crushed to death lying in a pit having stones slowly placed on her…
I L-O-V-E #s 1 & 10!!!!
#9: Cry Panic! And I'm starting to think the hairy hand one might be Death Moon, the Robert Foxworth one about the Hawaiian werewolf.
#10 Snowbeast
Oh man, everyone has done SO good. Here's some hints for the couple that are still unguessed: #1: Two of Charlie's Angels appeared in this movie before they were angels. #8: Backwoods Lord of the Flies (kinda), and one of the stars sings the theme song… (which I have on CD!) #10: This Snow Queen almost dropped her tiara because of what she saw staring back at her through the window. Those aren't great hints, I agree. But I"m new at this! 🙂 These were the ones that were guessed correctly:
#2: Bad Ronald – Mama called this one right off the bat!
#3: A Vacation in Hell – Good call Chris! It's one of my favorite TVMs. It's crazy awesome as the kids might say!
#4: Moon of the Wolf – Walter called it, although I like his Afterschool suggestion better.
#5: Deadly Lessons – YAY Mickster. That's a tough one because it's very hard to find these days. It used to run all the time on Turner South along with another favorite, This House Possessed!
#6: Secret Weapons – Kahotep knows his topless Linda Hamilton shots! 🙂
#7: Dark Night of the Scarecrow – This one is the most iconic on the list, and definitely one of the best television horror films ever made. Perhaps it is the best. Depends on what day you ask me! LaDracul called it first, but most of you remember the perils of poor little Bubba!
#9: Cry Panic – Walter, you RULE for calling that one. I think it's probably one of the more obscure movies on the list (along with Deadly Lessons), although it is on DVD (and I recommend everyone see it). I loved this movie. A total surprise when I watched it last year on a whim… Plus, it stars Earl Holliman (cue one of my favorite MST3K gags!)… Thanks everyone and I hope someone gets the ones that are remaining. This was so much fun!!! Thank you Kindertrauma for making my Friday less traumatic! 🙂
Whoops! I was so busy writing this, I didn't see Mickster got #10! Yup, it's Snowbeast and it RULES! 🙂
#1 Satan's School for Girls ?
Thanks Amanda – It's the Mighty Kraken here in fact, and any TV movie expertise I have is probably thanks to chatting with you at Joseph's site!
You're on a roll Mickster. Yes, it's the at the beginning. It's the girl that flees the school and goes to her sister to get help. Pamela Franklin is the sister. I love Satan's School. I watch it all the time!
Walter, I mean Kraken… Oh shoot! Now I"m confused!
Hiya, I'm pretty sure you have your own TV movie knowledge. I was just thinking about you. I was flipping through your book. It's amazing.
Btw, Kraken aka Walter is Caelum Vatnsdal, who wrote They Came From Within: A Histor of Canadian Horro Cinema. Pick up a copy NOW. It's probably the only book in the whole wide world that discusses the awesomeness Killer Party!
Very kind words, Amanda, thanks!

And as a great lover of Bigfoot movies I really should have recognized Snowbeast – it and Trilogy of Terror are the kindertrauma tele-terrors that freaked my five year-old shit up enough to become the horror-loving weirdo I am today.
Btw, I'm not sure anyone guessed #8. It's a movie called All the Kind Strangers starring Stacy Keach and featuring Robby Benson who also sings the incredible theme song!
Thanks everyone!!!
