Happy Father's Day! There I was getting ready to write an elaborate ode to CRAIG T. NELSON when I realized, we kind of covered that guy LAST YEAR. (Also there is the whole thing where there is a nerdy sci-fi convention in town today and I'm going to it and therefore do not have the time to give Mr. NELSON the proper respect he so richly deserves.) So forget that idea, who wants to hear me babble on about the greatest Dad in all of horror anyway? Instead how about you folks take some time to visit some of our favorite fathers out there in internet-land? These boys really know how to bring home the bacon and, as far as I know, none of them have ever been possessed by a giant tequila worm!
Note: You should also stop by and visit our pal Vince over at SLASHER SPEAK. (He recently became the proud father of a bouncing baby Bram Stoker award!)
P.S. If we missed any blogging dads out there let us know, feel free to leave your link in the comments section. Happy Father's Day to all!
Awww, thanks Unk! I wish I had some more content up over at Awesomeness, but this whole new baby thing is keeping my hands off the keyboard and on other things…like diapers, bottles, and an actual baby.
Today I had the good fortune of celebrating my first Father's Day by being pissed and thrown up on before my second cup of coffee…
Oh, the culprit was my son…just in case y'all were thinking something else.
That reminds me, I have to see if Auntie has his online store open yet…baby Chuy needs that peeps onesie toot sweet!
Well, I am not a father…………..there are people out there who think I'm a MOTHER!!!!
Still working on it Mr. C…. you will be the first to know, I promise.
I grew up wishing Craig T. Nelson would be MY daddy, if you know what I mean (and I think you do!)
I trotted out Steve Freeling and a few other horror movie DILFs over at my blog – recycled blog posts, what can I say, I'm just being green!
Happy Father's day, you scamps!
Thanks for the shout-out, Unk! I think my fave horror movie father is Stephen Macht as the dad in Monster Squad. That guy kicked ass – kind of a poor man's Roy Scheider, I've always thought.
Thanks for the shout-out on F-Day, Unk! Been spending it with the family unit, and got to open a few nice gifts, including a DVD from the missus, Saturday Morning Cartoons: 1970s Vol. 1 — which comes with a disclaimer on the box that it's "for the adult collector and is not suitable for children." WTF? Is there something highly inappropriate in Hong Kong Phooey or the Funky Phantom that I don't remember? Maybe there's a repressed Traumafession in the making once I pop it in and hit Play…
P.S. Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Canacorn. I didn't know the day had arrived!
Hey FilmFather, they put the same type of disclaimer on The Old School Sesame St. Volume 1 DVD. In both cases, it is absurd!
Well, we forgot this daddy and we just poked fun at his films a few days ago: Dario Argento! Think: The guy was so kind enough to cast his own daughter, Asia (pronounced Ah-zee-ah) in some of his movies…………..and have her do NUDE scenes-including two rape scenes! Their latest movie was that WAY delayed second sequel to "Suspiria": "Mother of Tears" where he has her do a shower scene! What a great dad!
