I know most folks love Forster for JACKIE BROWN (as well they should) but I just have to thank him for two other flicks that are near and dear to me;
ALLIGATOR which I'm watching right now and is so clever and awesome and especially THE BLACK HOLE which I've loved since I was a kid. It's basically a horror movie in space and it's a true visual stunner.

I like this trivia from his Wikipedia page: His father was "Robert Wallace Foster Sr., who worked as an elephant trainer for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus"
As a tribute to his father, Forster hung one of his father's Barnum & Bailey Circus posters in the office of his character in Jackie Brown.

I watched a movie with Robert Forster yesterday when I unexpectedly saw him, sadly it will be his last performance. I was flying high yesterday after watching (spoilers) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9243946/reference
and now I feel like I have tumbled off of a bicycle onto the asphalt.
