HOW TO PLAY:: Below are ten images from ten horror movie posters. The more movie titles you identify, the better you will feel today. If you don't recognize any of the images talk about THREE'S COMPANY.
6 is VAMP. Robert Russler. Rowwwww!
Others look familiar but Im slow today.
Fave THREES COMPANT ep: the one where they go camping and Lana tells Furley she'll pity fuck him if he finds her the berries that are out of season. He finds a store that sells them! This also features a classic bit where Jafck trys to sleep in a hammock and keeps falling out.
Even though I picked a Furley ep I give all my support to Stanley and Helen. they were hilarious!
6. Vamp?
7. Day of the Animals
9. Videodrome
10. The Hunger
2, 4 and 5 are VERY familiar.
#2 is so familiar . I just know Im gonna kick myself when you tell me what it is.
By the way, a little THREES COMPANY folklore I forgot to mention before, if you go on SNOPES you can find out all about the episode where we actually get to see Jacks balls! Apparently somone taped it asnd weatched it and slow-mo and called up NICK AT NITE to complain they could see Jacks dangly bits (after they went through such pains to TAPE and SLOW_MO it! If theyw ere soe asily offended why did they go looking with such maddening intensity?!)
#4 – The Evil
Gaahhh, The Evil…of course. For some reason I was stuck in a loop of thinking "It's Burial Ground! No, it's not Burial Ground. It's Burial Ground! No, it's not Burial Ground…"
2 and 5 are going to drive me completely insane.
You can see a still somewhere of Jack's, uh, balls (I hate that word) on Find a Death. Shocking!
One of my favorite scenes on Three's Company is the one where he dances with the potted plant on his head. John Ritter was and remains one of the greatest comedic talents of all time. I just got through the spin-off Three's a Crowd and the combo of him and Robert Mandan (Chester on SOAP) is magical.
I know I recognize #2 too, but my brain is so fried from moving.
Audra Lindley was in a small part in the Relic. She was wonderful!
#2: After Midnight
#5: Slaughterhouse Rock
#8: Just a guess, but Pet Sematary 2?
Boy, I wish I knew what #6 was – it looks great!
Now I'm feeling like I know #1 too. Somehow you've managed to find and present exactly enough of some of these to trigger familiarity in my brain without me knowing exactly what I'm looking at. Well done Unk, you neurological mad scientist!
Speaking of John Ritter's comedic skillz, has anyone else seen Noises Off? I feel like my brother and I are the only ones that sing that movie's praises.
I don't know the answers. But I had to comment because the couple of pics you have here of Ms. Lindley are, dare I say it, hot? She never looked more fetching, definitely not as frizzy-haired Mrs. Roper! Wow…
yowza
Oh, and I should weigh in on the 3C debate: I have to go for the Ropers. There's just more going on there than with Furley. I don't recall Jack ever having to pretend to be gay with Furley, only the Ropers, but I'm probably misremembering.
And I like the entirely fictional marriage cliche they created, in which the wife is the sexual aggressor and the husband constantly demurs.
Walter,
Is French Haddonfield Halloween 5?
I loved when Mr. Roper broke the fourth wall. He was hilarious. And I always thought Audra Lindley was pretty attractive. I loved how she had all that grey hair under her wig. She looked good. Anyone remember her on that episode of Love Boat where a bunch of passengers and some of the crew are stranded on an island and John Astin is this hermit that lives there? Audra is dying and chooses to stay there with him. And I also believe Issac ended up kind of running the ship while everyone was lost — I could be wrong about that though. I mean, the bartender becoming a captain is very outlandish but oh-so-Aaron-Spelling!
Oh gosh. I'm going to guess that #1 is The Blue Man (aka Eternal Evil), even though I know that must be wrong.
#3: Blood on Satan's Claw?
And it was 3 I didn't know before, not 6 which I certainly recognized immediately!
As for Three's Company, which I watched constantly, I can't remember a single specific episode! They all kind of blend into one another. But I always liked it when they went to the Beagle, because that was how I imagined I would spend my time when I was a grown-up. And now there's a bar called The Regal Beagle in my city, and I even go there occasionally. So that came true, sort of.
I don't know number one either but im gonna guess Trick or Treat. The one with Boner in it.
#1 is Night Angel, by Halloween 5 director Dominique Othenin-Girad. That VHS cover was a familiar sight from my video store days!
Is it bad that I knew most of these but didn't want to guess because I'll feel bad if I win anything else? Also, I remember that episode of 3C where you could see Ritter's junk. I never noticed as a kid because I wasn't looking.
Wow! Awesome, thanks. I have a lot of VHS tapes but not this one, and I've never seen it! After reading your write-up I really wanted to, but despaired of ever finding a tape of my own. So I'm most pleased!
I loved the episode where Mr. Roper was doing something in his bathroom with the pipes & he eavesdropped on Chrissy in her bathroom discussing a wart removal and he thought she was talking about terminating an unwanted pregnancy. What the what?!?
I love the Terri Moves In ep too. I remember when I was a kid I had a VHS tape of some of my all time favorite eps and that one was on there. They have that party andLarry streaks through it naked with a bumper sticker on and Mr Roper eats the cake with saw dust in it. LMAO! The ending is strangely touching too when Terri sways "Who else would take me (looking) like this?" and Jack says "I'll take you". Very sweet moment for such a silly show.
