It's been in my head all day. My only fear is that it will become a hit and will make me want to kill myself by October. I'm such an eighties freak and it kinda reminds me of Kim Wilde.
I love those costumes …"your mom", Â "WTF", Burt Reynolds and the Rubik's cube! "murdered boyfriend" is brilliant, they need to put that out on the market.Â

Unkle, It does have a Kim Wilde feel to it now that you mention it. We need to compare eighties playlists. I love the old vinyl Halloween costumes. I always hated wearing those types of masks because I wore glasses.
Mickster,
I am trapped in the eighties, it's a medical condition. If you saw what was on my itunes you'd fear for my sanity. We're going to keep this Jukebox thing going so expect to see mostly old stuff from back then. One of the cool things about kindertrauma that we were not expecting was so many traumafessions regarding music videos. We've covered a bunch but there are so many more. If you have any kindertrauma music requests, let me know!!!!
Mamasweetpeaches if you're out there, that goes for you too. I know you've got major music knowledge!
Speaking of old halloween costumes, do you remember the ones that you would inflate and wear on your head???? They used to play commercials for them all the time but I forget what they were called. I've searched for them on youtube but no luck. The commercials were super annoying.
Unkle, Oh man! That drawing is awesome! Yes, I do remember those costumes. We have 806 songs on our ultimate 80's playlist. Sometimes I like listening to it in chronological order and other times on shuffle. My super seventies list only has 379 songs.
I shared traumas experienced by my nephew and niece due to music videos earlier this year. Give me some time and I will come up with more.
(It's O.K that I use this website as a means of talking to myself right?)
Aunty J has been in L.A for a week, I'm going Kooky!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am glad you figured it out. I know it drives me nuts when I can't think of something. Do you get VH1 Classic? They had 80 hours of the 80's over the holiday weekend. It was great. I only wish I could have stayed awake for the whole thing.
LOLÂ It's too bad these comments are not published in the proper order to make sense!

Unkle,
Dang! I missed Naked Eyes! By the time I discovered it Friday night they were up to David Bowie, which was awesome because I LOVE Bowie! I even stayed up until 12 A.M. which is unusual for me on a Friday night. I am usually out cold by 10 P.M. God, I am getting old!
You have got to be kidding me! I just bought the cat people theme in July (Prof.VW knows that I prefer itunes cards to flowers for birthdays and anniversaries). That duet had past me by as well. I find Marianne Faithful creepy.
I love the '80s too…and that video was a hoot! Some of those costumes were fabulously funny ("Game Cube"…Honey if I could FIND that, that'd be my costume next month!)
Does anyone remember (this is a toughie , so bare with me) there was this blonde chick that did a duet with Phil Collins…and she also had a video on MTV (her alone, no Phil Collins) where it ends up she's a vampire? I've only seen it once or twice…but the first time I saw it it really DID scare me! Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
a 5 second search on my computer tells me "the blonde chicks" name is Marilyn Martin. Now I just have to find out the song where she's a vampire. Be right back.
MAN, that was TOTALLY AWESOME! I love the costumes.
I'm a HUGE fan myself. I mean, it was just a really incredible time, musically and otherwise. Plus, it was so damn colorful. People look back sometimes I think and find it horrible (and I agree it wasn't great sometimes) but all I remember is just how much fun movies, music and television were. I mean, Sledge Hammer?!? That show ruled!
I'm also a big Bowie fan. I've seen him about 3 times and each time he was totally amazing.
MamamiaSP,
I forgot about that song. She sounds like Pat Benatar and that video reminds me of a cinemax thriller. I love the ending with the hanging bodies.
Mickster,
Please tell me this is a part of your playlist…

Unkle, Prof.V.W. and I were just commenting over the weekend that we needed more Psychedelic Furs. All I have right now is Pretty in Pink and Love my Way. I assure you it will be on my wishlist to purchase soon! Do you have this one?
As far as Fire inc. goes…….I am a raving psychopath!!!!!
STREETS OF FIRE RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I'm intoxicated, which is super often, The SOF soundtrack is the most likely thing to be playing on my headphones. Poor Auntie is often trying to sleep and having to hear my rambling renditions of that AWESOME ALBUM!!!! ELLEN AIM IS THE SH*T!!!!!

I'd just like everyone to know that VH1 Classic was responsible for me waking up this morning with Robert Tepper's "No Easy Way Out" from Rocky IV stuck in my head this morning.
Actually I had forgotten until this weekend that Rockwell's "Somebody's Watching Me" had a nice little zombie vibe going on in it.
Speaking of Psychadelic Furs, does anyone remember Love Spit Love?
Creepy music videos? One of my personal favorites (although not from the 80's) is this:Â

Unk, You are correct! Streets of Fire does Rule! The soundtrack was one of my Christmas gifts last year. I don't understand how this movie tanked. It is great! Of course, I must admit that I also adore Xanadu. I wanted to be Olivia Newton-John. Summer of 1981, the boys next door and I drove my older sister nuts watching the movie constantly.
This is so weird. Yesterday I was on a non-horror 80s fansite and a bunch of people were raving about STREETS OF FIRE. I have never seen it (I guess the lack of dismemebered heads is what put me off) but now I just have to rent that sucker and see what all the hoopla is about.
The video is creepy, but the song is very catchy! I like it! 🙂

Oh good , you ARE there Mickster!!!!! I didn't see that you had left a comment because I was completely wrapped up in Kooky spooks mania!
It was if my kooky spook over-inflated and hindered my eyesight!
I think you have gone Kooky! Nah! You're just cool!
Mickster,
YES! I had that on all weekend!
And worse still at the bank today all I could hear in my head was Naked eye's "promises, promises"
Sadly, I then came home watched it on youtube and was left convinced that it was the best song ever made.
LOLÂ It's too bad these comments are not published in the proper order to make sense!

Mickster,
I am right there with you on the BOWIE!
I know most Bowie fans are not big on this song
but I'm all into the cat people theme….
More importantly,
Here he is singing "I got you babe" with Marianne Faithfull…

Why was I not alerted of this insanity before?
You have got to be kidding me! I just bought the cat people theme in July (Prof.VW knows that I prefer itunes cards to flowers for birthdays and anniversaries). That duet had past me by as well. I find Marianne Faithful creepy.
Creepy is right. I was at a friend's house once and they were playing the "ballad of Lucy Jordan" song and I made them shut it off.
Once you're actually older than "Lucy Jordan" you don't want hear that depressing shit!
I love the '80s too…and that video was a hoot! Some of those costumes were fabulously funny ("Game Cube"…Honey if I could FIND that, that'd be my costume next month!)

MARILYN MARTIN: Night Moves
The ending crepped me out – Still does!

Aunt,
We've just been keeping Unkle entertained in your absence. Please join in the festivities.
