This has been bugging me since I was around eleven – that would be in 1992. I saw a little bit of a film in a friend's house – probably a video – and one image stayed with me. Some people – a man and a woman, I believe – are trapped in a cave. They are tied, so they can't escape. Little mechanical children or dolls start walking towards them from the opening of the cave. They have sharp pointy teeth that open and close mechanically. Someone must have set the dolls walking, but I don't remember who. Also I don't remember how the scene ends. My only other clue is that MAYBE in the same film there were some flying creatures, human-like, but with big wings, maybe dressed in white and golden colours.
There.
Any idea, anyone?
Much appreciated!

UNK SEZ: Biting dolls and people (Pygar!) with wings? That's gotta be BARBARELLA! Thanks for bringing this one up Sarah B, It's such a cool movie and it's been way too long since I've last seen it! Check out the clip below!
That's the one – thanks unk! And I thought it would be the scariest movie ever… I'm so relieved to find it's just a silly 60s sci fi sex comedy. The dolls can leave my dreams now. This is what imdb says about the storyline:
After an in-flight anti-gravity striptease (masked by the film's opening titles), Barbarella, a 41st century astronaut, lands on the planet Lythion and sets out to find the evil Durand Durand in the city of Sogo, where a new sin is invented every hour. There, she encounters such objects as the Exessive Machine, a genuine sex organ on which an accomplished artist of the keyboard, in this case, Durand Durand himself, can drive a victim to death by pleasure, a lesbian queen who, in her dream chamber, can make her fantasies take form, and a group of ladies smoking a giant hookah which, via a poor victim struggling in its glass globe, dispenses Essance of Man. You can't help but be impressed by the special effects crew and the various ways that were found to tear off what few clothes our heroine seemed to possess.
This is one of those cult classics that I have never seen. Is it worthwhile? I sat through Zardoz recently, so my schlock endurance level is pretty high….
Sara b,
So glad it's the right one! I can totally understand your being freaked out by those dolls! Something about those chomping teeth!
Chuckles,
I predict you will love it. Visually, it's just so cool. It makes a good double feature with Flash Gordon (80)!
I think all spaceships should have shag/fur interiors!
