Hello group,
First timer and thank you. Saw a MFTV movie between '79 and '83 in the rural South so only got the one shot at seeing it… my recollection was it was set in the 30s or 40s, sinister in nature i.e. a secret group I recall were in men's suits like gangsters. My resounding and vivid memory was the ending with a close shot on a man standing on a loading dock, zoom in on his neck revealing his "s" or snake tattoo suggesting he was a member of bad guys. Given my youth, experimentation with drugs (it was the 70's) and the fact that it's been forty years it could be a feature film? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm really thinking that this might be "Ruby" from 1977. The beginning took place in around the 1930's when a man is killed by his gangster friends on a dock, but not a loading dock just a regular old dock in front of his girlfriend. Fast forward some years and now his girlfriend runs the local drive in with her mute daughter who is then possessed by the old boyfriends ghost. I don't remember too much about it but I think I do remember that Ruby, the mute girl is attacked by one of the old gangsters and she rips his shirt revealing a snake tattoo (maybe, it's been a while since I saw this one). Hope this helps, if not Ruby's an awesome wackado movie to check out anyways.

Hey Zombijoe – just wanted to say thank you so very much for this recommendation (sorry it took so long)!!! This did not kick in those cerebral fireworks that I generally get when I genuinely find one of those treasured memories, though it does oddly satisfy almost everything I mentioned – and it was exciting to see this incredibly bonkers film! I really appreciate it.
