When I was 8, I remember a PBS short that scared the heck out of me.
There was a girl laying in bed, and she spots various animals made out of the cracks in her walls. She imagines them coming to life. They meet a big, evil crack monster! But he crumbles to the floor. Was that Sesame Street? Electric Company? 3-2-1 Contact? ZOOM even?
This was more of my cousin's trauma then mine, but…
In the early 2000's (this wasn't very long ago), me and my cousin would watch a show about a pink dog. In one of the episodes, he goes to NYC, and there's this HUGE cockroach that scared the shit outta my cousin. What channel did this show air on? What was the show called? What was the episode's name? What was the cockroach's name? (Yes, he had a name) And…what was the dog's name? PLZ HELP!
Yay! I'm so glad I got to use that Romy and roach image again!
I don't know the answer to this one Tenshi but now you've got me watching 70's ZOOM!
No clue on the first, but the second sounds like Courage the Cowardly Dog. It was on The Cartoon Network and the cockroach was named Schwick:

The PBS animated wall crack has to be the legenday "Crack Master" (Sesame Street, Episode 979, 1977) A girl imagines the crack in her wall turning into various animated animals (a monkey, camel, etc.) before it finally turns into an angry face bellowing "I am the Crack Master!" There are actually petitions circulating to get PBS to release this cartoon back into the wild, since not a single clip or screen cap has ever surfaced…
Good job Pixie Pie and Brother Bill! These sound spot on!
The best info I've found so far on Crack Master is http://tailotherat.blogspot.com/search/label/The%20Crack%20Monster
The second one is from season 2, episode 2 or Courage The Cowardly Dog! I used to love this show (and I still do!) but the opening terrified me!
Here's a link to the exact episode:

Thank you! I remember Crack Master and I saw it when it was found! And thank you for digging up Schwick the cockroach again… it doesn't scare my cousin anymore but it's still a bit creepy, but not as much as the violin girl! Damn, Courage was really scary at times… does anyone remember the episode with the live-action floating disembodied head in their basement forcing them to grow shit or else they were "NOOOOOOT A FAAAAAAARMER"? *shudders*
