I am trying to think of a scary movie made in either the late '70s or early '80s. All I can remember is there is a young beautiful lady who is cursed and even though she looks young in the mirror, there is a painting of her down the hall that keeps aging. Eventually, she turns into this old lady in a black dress and dies. I remember she is blonde and I remember the house is old and there's a long hall and a big room with the painting in it. It scared me so much when I was little. It's not Dorian Gray because it's a lady.
Can anyone help? I've looked all over!
There's a TV movie from 1983 called the Sins of Dorian Gray with a female protagonist but there's no old house and her aging image is revealed on film rather than a painting. Any chance it could be an episode from an anthology series? Tales From The Darkside or Crypt? Night Gallery? You have a lot of information so it seems solvable. Hopefully someone can figure it out!
The only ones I can think of are episodes of horror themed shows, but they are missing some key elements. One is The Hungry Glass, an excellent episode from Boris Karloff's Thriller, but that's in black and white.

And an episode of the show Ghost Stories narrated by Rip Torn called Mirror, Mirror, but that aired in the mid-90s.
It could be the opening scene from the movie the witches? The little blonde girl is trapped in the painting and when she ages she is wearing a black dress before finally disappearing from the painting.
The Songs of Dorian Grey was also the only thing I found. Here is a pic that sounds like your aging lady
