Note: This puzzle is not an endorsement of DEMONOID (1980). I remember being very disappointed when I rented it as a kid.

I had to Google to figure out what merlons were called, didn't know it right off the bat. Saw some documentary about castles under siege and they used a peculiar word that I couldn't remember for the life of me.
SNL
MEDIEVAL SCALDER AND SON
The man (Chris Farley) in charge of pouring hot oil down on invaders (Dana Carvey, Kieran Culkin) attacking a castle teaches his son (Macaulay Culkin) about the fine art of scalding. [Season 17, 1991]
I was writing down the answers so I wouldn't forget and I didn't know what to call those things. I went with " turrets" but I knew that was wrong! Haha Thanks for the link!

I would of known instantly what you meant, if you'd posted "turrets"!
I'd probably posted my first thought of "cinder blocky thingys" that defenders dive behind when the arrows start to whiz by. But thankfully we have Google. lol
You're welcome for the link.

Vinegar Syndrome's DVD/BD combo of Demonoid is terrific. Yes, it's a half-assed film (by the Mexican director who tried to break into Hollywood with this and The Bees), but this set gives you both versions (the US edit has tits and extra gore but the original cut is generally weirder overall) and they look great.
Bad movie lovers will love it. Naturally Unk was disappointed, though; aside from brief flashes of the sword-wielding one-handed demon, the image above is a complete lie.
That's great Grok! I'll totally give it a second chance. It does seem like the type of movie I'd be more open to now. Kind of like THE DARK (1979) https://www.kindertrauma.com/the-dark-1979/
Thanks for the heads up. It's funny how late seventies movies seemed so old to me in the early eighties. And I do have a much bigger appreciation for Samantha Eggar these days.

And now I know about merlons. Thanks chainman. I didn't know what to call those things!
Bigwig- that ear thing looks more subtle than I thought. I lowered his right ear!
I do love this poster and the old MEDIA VHS tape. That background screaming lady was also on the SNUFF box..
Here is the full key…
Great job and thanks for playing! Hope everybody has a great and safe weekend!!!!
