UNK SEZ: These movies are NOT turkeys! They're all wonderful and waiting for you! Watch them in this precise order and YOU will become a member of the T.U.R.K.E.Y. Squad!
"T" is for TROG, a film with not one but TWO beasts!
"U" is for THE UNINVITED. A mutant cat! On GEORGE KENNEDY, he feasts!
"R" is for RAWHEAD REX, who just pee'd on a priest!
"K" is for KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE! You'll know exactly what to expect from the title at least!
"E" is for EQUINOX from this film, it's theorized, much of THE EVIL DEAD was fleeced!
"Y" is for YOU BETTER WATCH OUT! (CHRISTMAS EVIL) Yay, our days without holiday horror have officially ceased!
P.S.: Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours!
Rawhead Rex!!!! I would like to rewrite my entire IAHTKY and use this for all three underrated entries. Possibly one of the greatest head-ripping-offs of all goredom plus a Clive Barker penning make this a true classic. I know that Clive was unhappy with the look for ol' Rex, (Something about him looking like a 9 foot penis with fangs.) but when I first saw this I thought he was way cooler looking than any of the Stan Winston lot, and I think he still holds up today. I know what I will be watching instead of football. Happy Thanksgiving to all, and to all a goodnight!
Hmmm. I wasn't aware that there is a claim that Equinox inspired The Evil Dead. Where does this theory come from? I really don't see any significant overlap in the films except the appearance of an evil book. Just my opinion.
@ Dylan Donnie-Duke: Yeah, not so sure about the love of Rawhead Rex. Barker always intended Rex to basically be a penis, but he did not like the fact that the film gave us a Rex that was so plainly made of Nerf. Look at the pic that Unk posted – rubber guy with +/- a few chromosomes. Much of the unintentional hilarity comes from the fact that the guy playing Rex clearly can't see a thing in that mask and in many scenes he's blindly flailing around or just trying to keep that darned rubber head from flopping off.
There was some decent head-ripping and neck chomping though….
Funny that both Trog and Equinox scared me as a kid… Equinox for its 'you can't get away' ending and Trog because… TROG!
A childhood friend of mine swore to me there'd been a Trog sequel made and I spent a lot of youthful energy trying track it down pre-internet. I'm still half-convinced it's out there…
For all of his faults Rawhead Rex remains one of a kind. He looks good in stained glass too!
Chuckles,
Yep, people say that. I didn't want to repeat the cliche but I had only so many words that rhyme with "beastly" so I went there.
Knob,
TROG! We are all the sequel to TROG!
